CARP Fellowship Award


The National Fellowship award is given to members of CARP who show exemplary service to the rehabilitation community.

Over the years, there have been many excellent examples of this in the people who have been nominated. Any group of 5 members can put forth a name to their provincial association. The provincial association will review this and decide if the person meets the following criteria. If so, they will forward this information to the National CARP Board for consideration. This needs to occur by the end of the year for consideration by the National Board at their first meeting of the New Year.

The following are the criteria for the Fellowship Award. The incumbent needs to have at least 75 points out of a possible 100 to be considered.

At least 20 years in the field of rehabilitation is required.
1 point per year to a maximum of 20 points)

Very active involvement in the field of rehabilitation with measurable contributions made in the lives of many people.
(1-30 points awarded based on measurable issues, which dealt with, and achievements made)

The nominee must be a member of CARP for at least 5 years prior to the date of the application.
(1 point per year of membership to a maximum of 20 points)

Weighting will be given to professional members who have held office at a Provincial or National CARP board level and have been actively involved at these levels.
(1 point for every year of active office to a maximum of 20 points.)

Acknowledgement of the exceptional amounts of volunteer time and work given for those CARP members who have held the Provincial or National position of President.
(2 points for every year of presidency to a maximum of 10)
